King Peter was the last king of Serbia and the first of the Kingdom of SHS. During this period Bitola and its citizens had a significant role in forming of the new state as it owned craftsmanship, industry, economy, trade and diplomacy. This was the reason why the main street Shirok Sokak was renamed in King Peter in 1913.
