The former name of our Shirok Sokak was related to Hamidiye (Cavalry ) , the famous corps which belonged to Sultan Abdul Hamid II in the period from 1890 to 1908, and it was renamed during the Youth Turk Revolution. Sultan Abdul Hamid II established the first Constitution and Parliament of the Ottoman Empire.
